THE SKIES THE LIMIT FOR THIS MOTHER AND DAUGHTER PILOT DUO

A lot of people never get a chance to look inside the cockpit of an airplane before their flight but when this passenger asked to get a glimpse, he was delighted with what he found.

This picture of a mother-daughter duo and what we call JEWELHONEYs, preparing for takeoff has been going viral on social media ever since  Dr. John R Watret posted it on Twitter.

Mother-daughter pilot duo

Watret, while settling for his flight from Los Angeles to Atlanta had overheard a child requesting to visit the flight deck to meet the pilot and co-pilot who turned out to be a mother and daughter duo.

As the family returned to their seats talking excitedly, Watret thought "wouldn't it be amazing if I could visit them too" and so he did. He was greeted by Captain Wendy Rexon and her daughter First Officer Kelly controlling a Boeing 757 with Delta Airlines. He was also delighted to discover that Wendy's husband was a retired pilot and to make matters even better their other daughter was a pilot too.

Watret stated that there "Must be more diversification in the industry, when there is more opportunity, everyone wins".

The Tweet has gathered more than 40,000 likes and more than 16,000 retweets with many praising Mr. Watret and the pilots for raising awareness of women in aviation.

Mr. Watret's who doesn't usually post on social media said his phone was "blowing up" after his tweet about the duo and how it is "inspiring for young women".  Messages and reactions poured in from social media users sharing in his delight over the photo.

Thanks to Mr. Watret for raising awareness in women in aviation. We wanted to share this inspirational story to celebrate the resilience and brilliance of these two JEWELHONEYs.
